Noncooperation 101 Training

Join us for a 2 hour virtual training on civil resistance and noncooperation. We will cover the authoritarian threat and how to defeat it. We will especially focus on countering the all-out assault on our elections and freedom to vote at a scale that matches the severity of the threat. Participants will leave with concrete steps for taking action.

How to Plan an Effective Economic Pressure Action: Stopping Corporate Enablers of Authoritarianism

Join us for a 2 hour virtual training on a key aspect of civil resistance: economic noncooperation. We will focus on how economic pressure works, steps to planning an action, and specific campaigns you can join/lead in your community. Examples include campaigns to stop data centers, close detention centers, and pressure FedEx to stop funding and oppose Jim Crow maps in Tennessee. Participants will leave with concrete steps for taking action in their communities.

Attending a Noncooperation 101 training is a pre-requisite for attending this training.

How to Grow Your Group: two part series

Part one: July 20th, 7-9pm ET / 4pm-6pm PT
Part two: August 3rd, 7-9pm ET / 4pm-6pm PT

In partnership with People’s Action, this two-part online series addresses how to have conversations that identify what people care about and how to move them to action, how to establish practices and build group culture that keeps people coming back, and how to move volunteers into sustained action and leadership. So often, organizing groups rely on a few individuals, leading to burn out and stagnating our capacity as a movement. In this training, we’ll cover how to structure your group so many people can meaningfully participate, and how to strengthen the leadership capacity of your group to take meaningful and sustained action. This training is in two parts. By registering, you register for both dates.

Nonviolent Direct Action

In moments when institutions feel unresponsive or power is being misused, people often turn to nonviolent direct action as a way to step into their own agency and act together for change. It’s a way of saying, “we don’t have to wait”—we can creatively and collectively push for the world we want to see.

There are some fantastic nonviolent direct action organizations in the country (shout out to Ruckus and BlackOut Collective). If you want to bring us to do a nonviolent direct action workshop, please reach out to us (below).
